# Send a tracked email

You can watch this video to show you all the below steps:

Adding or removing mail tracking from Mail Track Chrome extension
{% endembed %}

## Start tracking

With the Mail Track for Gmail Chrome extension, the process of tracking an email is straightforward:

1. Create a draft, and the tracker will be added automatically
2. A popup will appear in the top right corner of the current tab, to confirm that the email is tracked.

{% hint style="info" %}
If the confirmation popup doesn't appear, check that [Mail Track for Gmail is enabled](/chrome-extension/settings.md) and that you activated the [tracking by default](/chrome-extension/settings.md)
{% endhint %}

## Cancel tracking

At this stage, **you can also remove the tracker**: simply click on it.

For the invisible tracker, there is a button with the icon of Mail Track at the bottom of the draft window:

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://support.mailtrack.email/chrome-extension/send-a-tracked-email.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
